HACKDAYS vs VIRUS
The global event industry is dealing with tough challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic, and hackdays is not an exception. Thus, the biggest question is how we can maintain our cool hackathons and keep inspiring the community with our hacks.
Driven by an enthusiastic and innovative team, hackdays has generated a new solution, which can transfer our live events towards digital – Online Hackathons.
“The Coronavirus might stop us from generating in-person events, but it can’t stop us from connecting people!” - hackdays team.
Online vs On-site Hackathons
As you may have known already, our live, on-site hackdays bring together designers, business experts, programmers, and other digitalization pioneers from all over Europe with German corporates to create innovative, ready-to-implement products, business models and whole new start-ups within 48 hours.
While keeping the same principal goal of hackdays, our online hackathon will be greater than ever. We are planning to connect people in a bigger scale, break down the distant barriers and support talents in different fields of expertise to generate “one-of-a-kind” solutions to our renowned challenge setters – BASF, Lufthansa, Accenture, MLP, to name but a few.
What is happening this autumn?
We have been working hard since the corona outbreak. Now, full of pride and excitement, we present our achievements and upcoming projects.
🚀 OSCAR&PAUL Battleweeks powered by Beiersdorf
135 international pioneers - 26 teams - 4 skin-care battlefields
Together with our partner Beiersdorf, we were hosting OSCAR&PAUL Battleweeks – a 4-week virtual hackathon event where 135 international pioneers competed to build the next generation skincare solutions. What is so special about this hackathon was that:
1. Our participants had a lot of hacking time so they could develop top-notch, refined solutions.
2. They had the chance to get in touch not only with a major global player – but also with the innovation driver of Beiersdorf: OSCAR&PAUL. They learned a lot about the inside world of both.
3. The winning team will has been rewarded with an unforgettable trip to Seoul (coming soon!). Not just sightseeing, but first-hand experience at the Nivea Accelerator.
The last round consisted of 7 of the initial 26 teams. Yesterday, the teams of The Hackathon Company and Beiersdorf were more than excited to announce the winner of the challenge.
Congratulation to 🥇 𝕋𝕖𝕒𝕞 ℕ𝕠𝕧𝕒, consisting of 8 members from 8 different countries. We believe that the Nova, together with Beiersdorf, will revolutionize the skincare market in the near future. Besides, we also want to thank
🥈 𝕋𝕖𝕒𝕞 𝕊𝕡𝕒𝕔𝕖 𝕏-𝕖𝕣𝕤
